Keep in mind, the previous Sonic Boom title on 3DS, Shattered Crystal, wasn't steaming garbage like it's HD counterpart.

Also keep in mind the animated show these Sonic Boom games are actually tied into is actually pretty solid.

So don't write this game off just because of the reputation Rise of Lyric got.

I think the case with the games is that they are being made for the TV show and not as their own thing. It is a TV Show tie in game like all of the other crap other companies push. TV Show comes first and game second at this point.

Nope. The Deal is over.

Wow, people are complaining, but yeah, this is the Sonic Fanbase. Always complaining about anything and everything.

In the year 2015, crappy sonic games dwindle in sales numbers, hitting record lows...and still Sonic Boom will receive a sequel. Meanwhile, SEGA does not believe in PSO or VF.

Yes, Masaharu Satō will have a lot of ground to cover, especially since the first and only time he voiced Eggman was back in 1993. Now that he's been given back the role more than twenty years later, it'll be interesting to hear him do it again.

What SEGA needs to do is work with Archie Comics. They should write the story and deal with the characters. (Get rid of Sticks and any of the other crappy characters, replace them with the better ones like Sally Acord, Rotor & Bunnie Rabbot.) Then they should do a more Sonic Adventure-styled game, more focused on the Freedom Fighters.

It'd be awesome if this just snuck out with like a T or M rating and it actually was a really dark game.

I like the cut of your jib.

You on the other hand... why would that ever happen for a game based on a cartoon for kids?

Except the Sonic Adventure games follow a totally different continuity than the Archie and SatAM continuities.

The Sonic franchise has a ridiculous number of continuities, all of them canon more or less. It's a big factor in why the Sonic fandom is so splintered these days, as each has their own fans.

Yeah! Let's add guns! And motorcycles! Very Happy
Alhtough I have to confess: I liked Shadow the Hedgehog even though it's almost universally bashed around as one of the worst Sonic games.

Some of these same people considered Sonic Unleashed to be the worst Sonic game ever made so I wouldn't take too much stock in those beliefs (even if Sonic Boom is the poorest selling entry in the series).

But had incredibly low sales just like it's HD counterpart.

Makes sense make a Sonic game that's based off of a alternate continuity half the fans have never touched and has characters most have never heard of or seen before and with some individuals being sticklers for good writing and characterization what could possibly go wrong when all that is turned into a licensed video game?

Don't forget about Ken Penders and his legal trigger finger regarding characters he made for Archie Comics (including most of the major echidna characters that aren't Knuckles.)

Penders should jump at the the chance of seeing his godawful looking character designs being used in a 1080p,60 FPS, HD video game.
