Not a fan of the character designs tbh but I like the key visual. Guess we'll see how this will work out...
There's some decent choices for the cast roles. |

It really doesn't create a good impression when promotional videos are blocked from viewing outside of Japan:

Hm, I didn't see a lot of fanservice, so this still has hope of not becoming your generic LN adaptation.

As far as I see it, it looks pretty much like the average "mecha+harem+action" LN adaptation (a la Infinite Stratos). I'll probably give it an episode or two, to see where, if any, it will use some kind of a hook.

Your hopes are unfounded. The literal first occurence in the story is the standard MC Sees Trash Main Heroine Tsundere Naked, Thus Leading To A Fight Between Them Where The MC Demonstrates His Amazing Unique Skills. As a fan of Harem Fantasy High School Battle LNs, I found this interminably dull. |

Since AoA has already licensed this, it's obvious that they would want to simulcast this. However, if I was to watch this, on a legal streaming site (even though I do subscribe to both CR and Funi, I still use copyright infringing-sites for most of my streams), would prefer to see them use their own video player because I don't like Hulu because of it's excessive ads. The same thing goes with it seeing on CR because not there are times where CR simulcasts a show that is also licensed by AoA and it doesn't conflict with it being on streamed on 1 site.

Personally, that first thing doesn't really bother me. I'd certainly prefer something a little more unique take its place, but I can look past that if other things make it worthwhile. Kind of like I can look past the protagonist of pretty much every gundam being a teenager. Now if the series is dull, well that is pretty much a deal breaker. |
