Still so disappointed this won't be animated. I recently watched the series on Netflix, and enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. Still waiting on the last OVA to be subbed. I really want to see more of the characters, which were really the driving force of the series for me.

Nice to finally get some more info on this. Hopefully the anime did well enough for Viz that they'll consider licensing the novel.

The AMV, PV and Animelo Summer Live 2013 performances of Kono Sekai wa Bokura wo Matteita (Suisei no Gargantia OP) by Minori Chihara conveyed an impression of paradise. Still meaning to watch the anime.

Speaking of novels, I'm aware there's a novel prequel to Gargantia released around the same time as the 1st anime.
Titled, "Shonen to Kyojin(The Boy and (his) Giant)", it focuses on Ledo's life in the Alliance prior to Gargantia's start. I DO hope that some kind individuals will attempt to translate, or summarise, both the sequel and prequel novels for the international fans who can't read Japanese... |
