Wow. I'm a sucker for artwork like that. Absolutely gorgeous!
I'm excited for this film. The premise makes it sound like it could either be a slice of life take on the time period, or it could end up being a pretty intense drama, a la Barefoot Gen. |

The art style looks nice and the animation looks great. And a WW2 story sounds very interesting. Looks like something to definitely look forward to.

I read Fall 2016. Oh that's more than a year of waiting plus more months for BDs :/
However, the PV looks nice and this really has a lot of potential so I hope the waiting will be worth the time. |

This is my most anticipated anime for a long time now. I'm really excited for it and the combination of Fumiyo Kono + Sunao Katabuchi + MAPPA makes me really confident something great will come out.
I think the moview will be a very delicate portrayal of how the people lived in that time. Although war is certainy a theme of the movie, it is probably not the focus. It's not about a soldier, after all, but about a wife, and even though war raged in Japan, people still had normal lives to live. That's what makes me most excited because we don't usually see movies set during the war which don't focus on the war itself. Having read Fumiyo Kono's fantastic "Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms" I know I will love the story and the art. The teaser is everything I had hoped for. Now we have to wait until early 2017 until we can finally see the movie, I guess. |

Already couldn't wait to see this. Now I can't wait to buy the soundtrack.
2016 is going to be a good year.
