Not really in my opinion. There's a pretty big discrepancy between the "attitudes" being represented between the male and female ones. The male ones expressions are all "Yeah baby, I'm the ****, you know you want me!" While the girls ones seem to be saying "Oh my! This is so embarrassing! P-please be gentle with me!" |

The difference between the boy and girl pillows is that the boys all have this look of confidence to them. The girls look a bit more uncertain and nervous about the whole thing.
Also, Mito has a knife. If I screw up with her, I could get cut!

Men and women are attracted to different things so the pillow are designed to appeal to their target audiences.
You do realise that Mayumi is the same age as Soma, Erina, and Ikumi, right? Anyways, no Megumi or Ryouko? BOOOOOOOO-urns! |

I really don't agree. Also, Men and women can be attracted to lots of different things, because there many different types of men and women, many of whom are probably attracted to multiple things. Women can also be attracted to men who are gentle and docile in bed. Men can also be attracted to women who're sexually aggressive. And the opposite, or both at once. Or one and then the other depending on how the night's going. If the makers of these pillows are still assuming this kind of "Men-Mars/Women-Venus) dichotomy, then I think that's really kind of sad and stereotypical. Also really boring. |

Look at it from a business perspective: always aim for the majority. Of course people are attracted to many different things. However in general (and there have been tons of studies to prove this) men go for younger women (make babies for longer that way) and women go for older, confident men (because such men can provide better). Men put more emphasis on appearences, women but more emphasis on emotion. Old fashioned, sure, but it's more of an ingrained instinctual thing.

I'm extremely disappointed there's no Isshiki. Seriously, the guy is Shokugeki's poster boy for female-fan service. Sexy Soma and Aldini is lovely, but I want me some naked-apron Isshiki. |
