So what the hell, having hentai in the US can you get you an obscenity charge? Or is that only when it includes loli? Though it doesn't seem to be something that's enforced, since you can count the number of cases on one hand and the US based sites have stayed up with no problems. Am I right in assuming that?

This thread should have been immediately locked as soon as the news article was posted. He admitted his guilt of possessing CP, he's been sentenced, he'll never work in the industry again . . . on what legitimate grounds could a discussion even occur? What's there to even debate?

I think they just wanted discussion of how shocking it was, and it added context to news that was posted before about the recast.

I'd say this thread merits a lock though.

Why don't we just lock up all threads and never have any discussions. Then no one will ever be offended or disappointed.

That is what moderation is for. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't. Nothing is perfect.

The problem is easy to see in this thread, as long as the poster obeys the rules, it is harder to moderate content that will be disturbing to some. Zac and ANN did their best, that is all we can ask of them. And they are already making plans for the next time.

But that is not an excuse to put the axe to everything, when a knife cuts more cleanly.
