Always dreamed of this happening but never thought it would so it feels kind of weird. I certainly don't wish to be the U.S. licensor who has to get this though since localizing it will likely prove to be an absolute nightmare considering they'll have to try and cater to both people who've played the games and know the english names and those who haven't and will be confused/annoyed if it's different from the JP version. Hopefully there'll be a happy medium somewhere, though at the very least I hope Sam Riegal and Kyle Hebert can come back for Phoenix and Edgeworth regardless of who gets it.

On a final note: NORIO WAKAMOTO FOR VON KARMA OR BUST (the character even LOOKS a bit like Emperor Charles Laughing Laughing )

If FUNi licensed it and dubbed it, this is what the cast should look like in my opinion:
Phoenix Wright - Eric Vale
Miles Edgeworth - J Michael Tatum
Mia Fey - Colleen Clinkenbeard
Maya Fey - Monica Rial
Larry Butz - Todd Haberkorn
Dick Gumshoe - Christopher R Sabat
Franziska von Karma - Brina Palencia

I enjoy seeing other people have fantasy dub lists on shows, especially before the series starts. If it was an original series, that would be even harder since all we can go on is the limited released info. Thus, it is likely easier to do that with source material shows.

Alright, I'll try it out.
It'll be interesting to see how the anime show of Ace Attorney will play out in its localized version of the gaming side of the franchise.

Oh boy is this ever going to be a mess.

I picture something more like this:

Phoenix Wright - Mike McFarland
Miles Edgeworth - Jerry Jewell
Mia Fey - Caitlin Glass
Maya Fey - Bryn Apprill
Larry Butz - Clint Beckham
Dick Gumshoe - Andrew Love
Franziska von Karma - Brina Palencia
Pearl Fey - Jad Saxton

Never played a single game but I am always interested when these types of games get supplemental material like this... in spite of history showing me how well that turns out (Blazblue)

The first, second and fifth games are available on iOS Phone/Pad, and prepare to submit to your next addiction. Very Happy

The fifth game, Dual Destinies, used some limited animation with voice for the plot cutscenes, so it's not too out of the realm of imagination to picture the anime version.

Well, it's about time! I've never played the games myself, but I've heard about it a lot. I guess I'll watch the anime adaptation. Looking forward to it!

Even though it won't happen, I would love for Shu Takumi to oversee it. His writing gives an extra dimension to a lot of characters that would normally just be pure stereotypes, and he tends to avoid preachiness in his themes, or at least have it be earned when it does happen in Ace Attorney (which I can't say for the writers of Dual Destinies and the Edgeworth-spinoff games).

One of my favorite things in the games are the little asides you get when investigating and presenting different evidence. They really add a lot to the games, and I wonder if the anime will integrate that...? Probably won't, outside of a couple obligatory jokes between Phoenix and Maya.

Regardless, even though I'm not optimistic about it, I'm looking forward to it!

I may not have played the games, but I could smell the fandom's general response of "Objection!" from afar if the anime doesn't stay close to its roots.

I can't help but feel that most game adaptations suck so much BECAUSE they try and tie themselves to the source material.

Yeah, the only anime that adapts a game that I have truly enjoyed, was Ixion Saga DT. I've heard that it was nothing like the game, but I enjoyed that anime immensely!

Where's my Phoenix nendoroid? My Maya doll? My Edgeworth figma? Come on!

Where's my statue based on this?

I cant 'like' ANN posts, but consider this a 'like' from me to you, because that as an option part for a nendoroid would be the greatest thing.
