I have little interest on it because from the trailer it looks like one of those colorful, loud and stupid shows from the 80s and 90s. |

Those tie-in goods are weird. They should make something better this year because 2015 is the year of Third Impact.
Anyway, my choice is Asuka Langley Soryuu, so I voted for her. She is just the most badass character, the most direct in expressing her emotions, the most honest, the most real. She isn't some weird disposable clone like Rei, she isn't just a commander who doesn't pilot anything or personally do fighting like Misato, she isn't some strange person who loves the smell of LCL and acts like she's a cat like Mari. Asuka's last great battle in End of Evangelion against the entire Eva series is more than enough reason to pick her as the best. And the way Asuka is the one who points out to Rei that she's just a doll, or tells Shinji what a useless wimp he is, she just says what I, the viewer, am thinking. Plus Asuka is also Shinji's favorite too even though she is the meanest to him out of anyone he is interested in. |

Why? What strange tie-in are you thinking of? Not that I doubt it has its share, but some elaboration would be helpful, and probably entertaining. Though I'm not familiar with many, one of my favorite commercial tie-ins were the Vash the Stampede shampoo ads (Herbal Essence? I forget, can't find the video anymore). |

Almost makes me want to choose Rei. Spencer is a terrible Shinji. But Asuka always captured my interest. It's a different interest now that I'm in my thirties, though. Had to take down those posters when I was in college, because it was creepy as f***. |
