A Lull in the Sea has been in my need to purchase list for a while now. I simply have not gotten around to it. After this review it's only hardened my need for this show. I think come payday this week it's time to stop procrastinating and buy the BluRay set.

For a collection that only started three years ago, it's extremely impressive. Well done, Mark.

Ah, A Lull in the Sea, beautiful to look at and I wanted to love it..but didn't. I felt that the build up to the sleep felt weak, and then it just went down hill with the direction they took afterwards.
And, best girl losing colours my perception of the show.
Brynhildr is out...that was a decent 9 episode series. I'm unsure what happened to the remaining 3 or so episodes...seem to be unable to recall them...

I loved A Lull in the Sea. Probably because I wasn't expecting much from it, since I normally don't like slice of life anime with slow pacing. But I loved the characters so much that I just got pulled in by the show. I really hope NISA eventually releases a Standard Edition Blu Ray for. As much I loved the show, I just can't put down so much money for just one show.

I really enjoyed A Lull in the Sea. I found the characters to be likable and well developed, and enjoyed not only the romantic relationships but also the family and friendship dynamics as well. The world was interesting low fantasy and the status quo changed regularly to keep me engaged. Mari Okada is quickly becoming my favorite anime writer.

Regarding this week's shelves: didn't realize that the full-color hardcovers for Highschool of the Dead were so big. Great collection.

A Lull in the Sea does have its place, it is well made with some interesting concepts and some moments, although I think "lull" really is an all too fitting word. It feels a bit sleepy for actual plot, which is strange still because I can say there was a lot of plot. Still looks hugely better with what P.A.Works released afterwards.
Sabagebu was incredibly funny, matching pace with Nozaki-kun and Barakamon around the same time. And kind of the one people missed.

Sabagebu was hilarious. There were many (literal) laugh out loud moments for me. While I agree there were some bits that fell flat, I think the other content makes up for it to keep it shelf worthy.
