And with the whole long text thingy I meant to say that the so called 'hentai games' (a term I tried avoiding) are visual novels as well, yet they don't fit the association with the term 'visual novel' that well since they're sex oriented. But using terms such as 'eroge' (erotic game), '18 over only game', or 'adult game' would be correct and more appropriate even for sex oriented games. 'Hentai' is not accepted by me in any case or for any medium.

(Sigh) That's why I told you guys to learn those terms I mentioned in my previous post first before ever trying to comment on Japanese adult gaming culture. Right now you can't even describe a game appropriately due to your limited vocabulary.

With all due respect, I do know those terms, but what I thought we were after here was a common denominator for all the renai games, nakige, kichiku, chikan and the sorts. I know that's not exactly possible, but better common denominators do exist ('h-game' or 'hentai game' aren't these terms). But yes, anybody who dares to comment on the adult gaming industry (or adult anime industry for that matter), especially with a news entry on a site such as ANN should know these terms as prerequisites.

I should have noticed you used Shizuku and other Leaf/Key games as examples, and whoever knows them should possess some degrees of ero-game knowledge. My apologies.

I concur. We both agree that the term "H-Game maker" should not appear in the front page, especially for companies like Kid Corp whose majority of products contain no pornographic scene at all.

Check your PM for further details.

P.S. I wonder if this Desty is the one who provided the news. Whatever.

I don't even know why I read all that, I must be bored. Much less responding, considering I really don't care too much about a company I've never heard of that makes visual novels, which I never play.

Seinen anime is NOT a very good thing to use instead of h-anime: things can be seinen without ever being pornographic. Like Hantsuki: it's seinen, but not pornographic. It means it's aimed at older men, like the opposite of shonen, and includes things like harems.

They actually release visual novels that aren't erotic? Holy shit. I thought those only existed in fan renai games. =o Shows what I know.

No, the difference is in how the kanji is written. And, you know, there exist valid translations for both of them. "seinen" as "young man" is written as 青年, and as "adult (age)" is written as 成年. English language is very flexible and has a very wide vocabulary. Why not use valid translations instead of using "h-anime" and "hentai" (which aren't)?
