Excellent news. Heroic Legend of Arslan is pretty compelling. I even watched some of the original OVA to compare, and the new TV series is definitely superior in its approach. I love the designs right out of Arakawa's manga and the story is pretty compelling, too.

As much as I want to see the anime go on with the entire series, I would rather have the creators take their time and do the best they can with arslan and not simply rush it while cutting out scenes,details, and the development of both characters and plot.

It's called hedging your bets and has become much more common since the 2008 recession. It gives the production committee the opportunity to decide whether to spend more on a series or not.

Thank goodness. While I hope they get a better director this time around, I'll watch even the crappiest episodes just to find out what happens next.
