I really need to read Citrus sooner or later. A lot of why I find it difficult to get into yuri, despite being a girl who likes girls, is it's so asexual and also lacks any conflict. "Yuri that's more like yaoi" sounds up my alley. Especially when just based on the cover, the girls look more adult than in a lot of other yuri manga--that's my other problem with the genre. I'm not into little-girl moe characters (no judgment if you are, but I'm not).

Speaking of yaoi, the manga I'd really like to see made into an anime is His Favorite. It's about a gawky dorky dude who finds out the hot popular guy in his school is someone from his past, and also in love with him. It's really funny and while Sato (the seme) can be kind of a jerk sometimes, their relationship is much sweeter and more (not entirely) consensual than a lot of yaoi.

It's hard to think of others. I'd like to see something like Moyoco Anno's Buffalo 5 Girls adapted, but it's so short it would probably be better as a movie than a series.

ETA: Oh yes of course, like everyone else, I want to see the rest of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure adapted. Smile I haven't even read the parts that haven't been licensed, but I know enough of the premise that I'm totally ready.

Oh... Gou-dere Sora Nagihara would be great and fit in line with a lot of things I've seen get anime in the past few years. I'd watch if that one ever got an anime for sure, the manga is delightfully ridiculous.

As for something not listed... only thing I can think of is Mayu Shinjo's Akuma na Eros. I'd love for it to become an anime someday, although I'm about 100% sure it'll never happen. I really liked the story, even though it was very racy at times... that and Satan is just beautiful. Embarassed

I would have put World Embryo on this list, but I agree that Cage of Eden is worthy of one too

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 4- It's coming. We all know it's coming. Still putting it here though.

I was waiting for someone to put it up there. Can't wait for Crazy Diamond to show up. It's probably one of the best parts of Jojo and if you could recommend any part of Jojo, this would be one of them or perhaps THE one to recommend depending on how you feel about it.

Alice 19th has been on my want list for a long time and I thought was perfect for being animated.

If we're going to get an anime of Cage of Eden, for the love of God give it an anime original ending (I know, "You actually WANT an anime original ending?" Yes, because the manga's ending is horrendous.

Ubel Blatt: We don't need a shonen Berserk (OK, Berserk is now a shonen Berserk, but that is a completely different thread) and that is all this is.

Not really understanding what you are saying. Ubel Blatt is a great revenge story. What does it mean, by saying it is a shonen Berserk, and why does that matter.

Remember, I was stating why I thought those manga were not "worthy" of an anime. I was not speaking about their individual merits, I even stated, if produced, I might watch them (although I probably wouldn't watch this one since I have tried twice and never made it past the second volume, although in animated form it might be better).

Now, to the shonen Berserk comment: it has some of the blood and objectionable sex of Berserk, but structurally it is a standard shonen manga (e.g. plucky (OK in this case a rather moody one) young hero (at least that is his visual appearance), weekly/monthly baddies, powering up, growing team, power of friendship, etc.).

Yep, so true I share your pain ;__; hardly any conflict or drama at all Sad I suppose some of it comes from the fact that yuri nowdays is mostly made for guys, and the popular image of yuri now is that it's 'pure' and innocent so there's not much focus on actual sex or sexual desire. It almost just comes across as friends who snuggle and kiss once in a while (and maaaybe grab boobs in the bath). I also agree with the moe art style critique it's just not for me I'd rather see a romance between two women with complex emotions rather than two little girls who don't say much to each other beyond "b-but... we can't, we're both girls!"

Citrus really, really badly needs to be made into an anime. I've read the first volume and it is much more like yaoi in how its written, you should really check it out!

I would also like to add Arachnid to the list of manga I would like to see adapted.

YES! If we're picking a bunch of random personal favorites like the author of the article then this one definitely takes the cake for me. I pretty much gave up reading manga for a while after finishing this series because nothing else matched the catharsis of watching Yuu discover himself through broken bones and sinew.

Devil X Devil, been waiting years for this to become an anime. Awesome Shounen story about and Devil and Angel rivals that become humans after their 100th battle in the heavens, albeit in opposite personalities. 15 volumes would make a great 50 episode run.

Ajin - The next Tokyo Ghoul except better

The anime for this one was already announced. It's getting a movie (or was it movies?) and a TV anime series.

As for my picks...

My favourite manga currently does not have an anime adaption. It's also an older title, and complete. That is Mizuho Kusanagi's NG Life.

I may be alone on this one, but there are some things in NG Life I've not seen in anime yet. Those mainly being - Pompeii and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the struggle faced by the main character due to reincarnation and its gender-bending (main character is not gender-bent).

2nd on my list would be Strobe Edge. It was a manga that I burnt through 10 volumes over 2 days...a feat that has yet to be repeated. Laughing

The 3rd on my list is Love Roma. I don't think I've really encountered the kind of honesty and comedy from a set of characters in another anime/manga than what is on display in Love Roma.

4th - Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. Love the manga, has some good action, and the characters are great.

There are some other manga I'd like to see get anime, but they are also manga I've not read...only heard about. Though, I do plan to read them, and have already pre-ordered the first volume for each. Those are Horimiya (not Hori-san to Miyamura-kun) and Orange.

Psyren is another series that I've read about, and it interests me. I plan to get the manga soon, but an anime would be nice while I wait to save up the cash. Laughing

Lastly, while it is not a manga, I'd like to see Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria get an anime. I've seen online discussion where, those who have read the series, state that it would be a difficult project to undertake. But, to me, the story sounds so interesting, I'd like to be able to experience it. I don't see the possibility of getting the LNs licensed...

Funny, used to be the stereotype of yuri for guys was "It's just porn!" Oks Comix/XO Comics currently has a whole line of hentai yuri manga anthologies and collections.

How is Citrus written more like yaoi? I've read the first three volumes, but I don't read much yaoi.

I'd love it if these manga were made into anime:

{Unannotated listing is disallowed. ~nobahn}

(I'd put the Phoenix Wright manga on here but an anime announcement was already made, YES, so I'll refrain)

I know none of these will ever happen, though.
