Yes! Very much looking forward to this. It was one of my favorites series this Spring. Hope it can debut sometimes for Spring or Summer next year.

Given KyōAni's track record adapting novels, it will probably be an original content, not based on the novels. |

So far most of Ephonium has been based on the novel so I think they'll just keep following it. besides I think they mainly go original with in-house novels like Free, Chuunibyou and KnK and the upcoming Free movie is adapting the novel. I couldn't care less about the movie, since it's basically a condensed version of Season 1, but I'm hyped that Season 2 of Sound! Euphorium is in the works!

People, bear in mind that it says sequel not season 2. It could also be a movie. I don't mean to be a downer, but it's best to be prepared.

I've heard from a friend that the anime adapted 1 vol into 13 episodes.

In MAL it says that this will be a sequel TV anime, and in Anichart this is under TV section, so i guess that this will indeed be a second season. It's just ann who again ( accel world ) is bad with words, creating missunderstandings

I understand your concern, but in the source of the news article -- MoCa -- it is written [TVアニメ『響け！ユーフォニアム』の劇場版およびTVシリーズ続編が制作決定] or [TV anime 『Hibike！Euphonium』to get a theatrical version as well as a sequel TV series]. |

Kyoto Animation's original announcement did not specify that the sequel will be a television series. The MoCa website only stated later that the sequel will be a television series. |
