This reminded me of alternately of "Kodocha" (for the girl-standing-up-to-immature-boys-who-have-taken-over-the-class stuff) and "Aqua Age" (for the coming-of-age, no-longer-a-child-but-not-yet-a-grownup stuff). Both of those series included strong elements of romance, but also tackled a lot more in addition.

This show looks like it's going to be dwelling mainly on the romance angle, which probably isn't going to be enough to hold my attention for very long.
