Have we figured out if this is an adaption of the games yet? I'm likely out of the loop, but since I'm currently playing the game, real slowly, I need to know if this anime is something I should wait until I finish before watching or if I can at least watch up to where I am in the game before stopping and progressing in the game.

Wow! Ufotable really loves to animate the clouds beautifully. With Flow singing the OP, this is gonna be great.
Provided that they don't messed up their schedules like God Eater.

Why are people still talking about God Eater's delay? It wasn't ufotable's fault. God Eater wasn't a finished product when it was released, heck, it wasn't supposed to be released last year. The were forced to speed things up because the committee wanted the anime released to serve as publicity for the game that was coming out at the time.

We don't know. The tag line is something like "The Shepherd's journey beyond Zestiria," and the initial announcement trailer (before we knew it was Zestiria the X) also showcased Xillia. Rumors that it'll connect to Berseria are flying, too (and make sense, since Berseria's a prequel).
