At first, i was aginst the idea of live action. But as soon as I saw Shun Oguri's name...

Even as a die-hard fan of the franchise, I have zero enthusiasm for this. Everything about Gintama - from the characters to the setting to the comic sensibilities - is perfectly suited to animation. A third animated film would have generated more excitement and (presumably) made a more robust profit, though I understand it would have been costlier to produce. Some JUMP properties are good candidates for live-action adaptations, but in my opinion, Gintama is not one of them.

I think the AoT live-action movie ruined me 'cause I'm very resistant to something like this. Ugh, I'm so conflicted now! The seiyuu are their characters, specially Sugita. He couldn't be Ichigo, but he got to be Gintoki and that's the best thing ever.

Shun Oguri is horribly miscast IMO. I'm very curious about how are they going to make Kagura non-cringeworthy in live action (I love her but she mainly works as an anime character).

Oguri Shun actually does really well in comedic roles imo.
Since the director did HK, he worked with Shun before (since Shun also had a part in the writing for that movie as well). Though, it might be a long shot, I do want to see Sakaguchi Kenji as Kondo, since he was referred as a gorilla in the popular drama, PRIDE. :c |

I'm not too worried about this. What gets me is that the "Gintama" anime hasn't got an English dub yet. When are they ever going to do that?

I'm so so not okay with this. This is almost as bad as the FMA live adaptation movie announcement. For different reasons, they both work so much better as animation.
The only way I can see this maybe working is if they turn it into Class Z
Probably never since it's not super popular overseas and contains a lot of jokes people unfamiliar with Japanese culture and references won't get >.< |

Will Sadaharu be full CG, a guy in a giant costume (overlapping with Elizabeth), or a normal sized (low budget) pet?

I'm actually fine with the TV series not receiving a dub. The English dub of the Benizakura movie is among the worst I've ever heard. |

Uhhh, there is one and it's bad, just terrible, so no, i hope that they never do an dub of Gintama.  .If you want to check, look for the Benizakura arc, if you want to listen.
