Is Niantic capable of dealing with the explosive popularity of Pokémon GO? I remember Rovio almost imploded when Angry Birds became a hit, and they later got in financial trouble after people had their fill of tossing limbless birds.

Well if I understand correctly Niantic is pretty much Google so they should know how to deal with that^^

Really? I thought Niantic is a small indie game company that merely got support from Google to help make Ingress and Pokémon GO.

Here's hoping some of Niantic's future updates of Pokémon GO will introduce a new mode beside catching. It gets tedious having to capture the same Pokémon over and over to evolve a Pokémon that's capable of evolving.

You can always go out at night. Just make sure to go with a friend or two.
They mentioned at their SDCC panel that they're implementing trading in the future, as well as more generations of Pokemon and improved pokestops and gyms. Their main priority is keeping the servers stable. Should also note that the current version is only 10% of the things Niantic has implemented. We just have to be patient. |

I think they are closer linked than that. What I heard is that the guy who helped build the framework for Google Earth later founded Niantic. Taking this country by country on a global scale, having Google Earth in your corner is a smart move. This guy. |

Interesting. I always thought the Niantic people were a bunch of former nobodies who struck gold. I can see why Niantic was chosen to make this then. |

Well, I've been seeing PSAs around here on billboards and bus stops that read "If you hit someone, stop the car!" I think that's unrelated though. |

That is an avg. of 2631578.94737 downloads per day. How many are from people lacking common sense of when and where to use it? I'd say too many.
