While Magikarp may not be a excellent battler, its Splash is useful for a certain Mini-game in Pokémon Stadium. Cool

I would be estatic if The Pokémon Company made a song about Magikarp. Smile

It's actually better as a Magikarp since everyone and their mother seems to have a red Gyarados from HG/SS.

Bounce is a lot better on Gyarados like everything else unfortunately.

Bounce is a lot better on Gyarados like everything else unfortunately.

True, particularly when it's in its Mega Evolution.

I've gotta ask. Did "Weird" Al Yankovic have a hand in writing this song? Because that's what it feels like to me. Let's be honest here. Magikarp doesn't exactly strike me as an interesting pokemon. Even James of Team Rocket doesn't like it and he had one for a short time. This must be a novelty song. The sort of song that old "Weird" Al would sing just for fun.

Yeah the only good thing about Magikarp is that it evolves into Gyarados but that takes a LOT of time and patience. Mad

It's only a matter of reaching level 20. aka, the point the game expects you to be at by the second Gym. And for what it's worth, evolving doesn't just make it better... It makes it amazing. Between its excellent Attack, high speed, good defenses and incredibly versatile movepool, if one just has the patience to grind Magikarp up to lv20... it is absolutely worth it.

So yeah, least impressive Pokémon? Oh please, compared to Unown, Magikarp is absolutely stellar.

Useless but his evolved form is the strongest. Reminds me with Numemon from Digimon.

I think people are a little too harsh on the guy. Magikarp isn't completely useless in battle.

Well at least it obediently splashes on command however futile it may be, unlike a certain pokemon who lazily disregards everything you say. It's difficult being a Pokemon Dictator with slothful dissent in the ranks.

I'd take a Magikarp over a Goldeen any day, but what I really want is a Feebas.
