The manga is already well known for its truck scene without me even reading the manga, evident with some of the comments already in this thread. I never was really bothered by it in the past because I thought I would never read it, but now that an anime is coming I am a little bumped that I won't be able to see that scene with the full unexpectedness that it's meant to have.

Early on in the manga I thought that he was writing Fūka with an eye toward having it animated. There are scenes, like spoiler[their "failure to meet" around the Hachikō statue] that were OK in manga form, but in anime would work perfectly. The real killer of course is that they have to have the MUSIC! I HOPE that they hire Ryo of Supercell to do the songwriting and get some top level voice actresses who are also singers like the members of Sphere for the female singers, or they could go the Angel Beats method and have different singers than voice actresses... But there will be demands for a lot of quality singers and original songs for this show. I also hope it gets more than 12 episodes! (It might be possible that the story is wrapping up as well, based on the most recent chapter... or at least coming to a reasonable spot for the end of a story arc... I could see where it is being where the anime goes to, within a couple more chapters.)

I have fololowed this manga since it came out, and it always worried me that it has a lot of original music in there, thus making it really hard to adapt... And yet, here we are.
I can only hope this comes better than IruMachi.

I was wondering if Fuuka would ever get its own anime adaption...I'll be curious to see how this goes, and a part of me hopes they stop at a certain point in the manga (you can probably guess which one) rather then try and adapt as much as possible.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle the music element and who they cast for the main characters.

I also hope the animation and direction is at least a bit little step-up from Gonzo on the Kimi ni Iru Machi adaption.

Kouji is such a hack writer. The man can draw, but he can't write characters and dramatic situations to save his life. I will tune into this just for that hilarious and cheap attempt at drama scene involving a truck Laughing

Totally agree. His arts are clean and polished though a bit generic, his works have gradually dropped in depth and quality over the years, not what you'd expect from a veteran author.
In my teenage days, I moderately enjoyed Suzuka back in the days, got quickly bored of Kimi ni Iru, Fuuka made me cringe hard for its mediocre writing and annoyingly bland/boring MC.

So many other romance manga are better AND anime worthy...

Hopefully it's a good adaptation with jigglies.

iirc, the manga is troll-echi, meaning that some of the covers are echi-esque but the actual amgna's contents are not at all.

SURE ITS NOT....I'm sure there's a bunch of ECCHI scenes in the manga.. Rolling Eyes

Well, he avoided to go full ecchi on the heroïnes as they were still underaged. But adult characters (as Koyuki's sisters, that exist only for that) had their fair share. But since it was focused on the teenagers, it was not so aggressive. But we got more and more ecchi scenes since they got 18.

KnIM made me cringe for all the unatural reactions, and and the drama rollercoaster. And the fact both MC acted like utter bitches.

Oh man, who on earth gave this hackneyed mercurial fanservice drama trainwreck, ahem, truckwreck an anime!?

Seo Kouji lost his ability to write after Half and Half. The spoiler[killing off the main heroine thing] was ballsy and good, but the spoiler[replacing her with an identically named bustier cute girl part] was so mind-numbingly stupid that I dropped the manga them and there.

Who knows, maybe the boobs will be meticulously animated and the BDs will sell like hotcakes.

As a fan of the Suzuka anime, I'll check this one out. I'm looking forward to finding out about the truck in this one.

Though, I do have a bit of a love-hate with Kouji's works...I've only come across 2 of them due to their anime adaptions. Hate IruMachi.

And that is a strong word, and something I've never said about any other anime I've watched (and there have been some bad ones). With IruMachi, I just can't ever see myself getting over how much I loathed the actions that we see our MCs take during that series...
