Hmm would this mean for us (online readers) the final chapter would be out for us earlier? Like the 18th?

Well, guess I just buy my time with other stuffs until then.

Again, their is only 1 expectation left I want to see come out of this:
-Ichigo's fate

The ending...well I'll wait to find out itself and give my sentiments until then.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find it kind of funny that Tite Kubo's manga is ending in the same month as Kubo and the Two Strings premieres.

If it's true that Studio Pierrot is just waiting for the manga to end, I do look forward to seeing it. This last arc would be a lot better if its pacing was sped up drastically.

Seriously though, if at some point in the future Kubo (with help) streamlined the series and tied everything up, it might not leave such a bad taste in everyones' mouths.

I think Kubo can make something great if he draws for someone else. Clearly, he can draw well and make some really stylish art, but his weakness is writing middles and endings. If someone else can do that for him, it should cover that weakness.

Dunno what you mean, but I'm an online reader and my issues come out on Mondays.

I've always thought this; Kubo has some great little arcs but in terms of long-form story telling he really isn't the best. He creates far too many characters, doesn't kill them off, lets characters fall by the wayside and meanders in the middle of the longer arcs. Bleach would have worked much better if it had simply had more characters fleshed out IMO. I was always intensely disappointed that nothing was done with Tatsuki, a character who, if you look at it logically, should be one of the biggest characters. She's Ichigo's best friend who's been there his entire life, whilst they get a few moments it really never amounts to much.

The same can be said for a lot of characters which feel like they might have interesting routes to take but ultimately they lead nowhere.

Should Kubo make another work - I would like to see him get a good writer and for the work to not be a shounen, or at least not action/adventure series. He's made two now and I'd like to see him move on to something else a little different since his art style has changes so much, maybe a mystery type thing, though it would depend entirely on the writer.

think about Nisekoi for example, says the final chapter going to end on the 36th/37th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday the 8th August.

However the final chapter will be up online today, Bleach says 22nd of august so I suppose we might get it a bit earlier.

Well, you don't have to kill off characters. You can just retire them. Towards the tail end of Part 3 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Jotaro and his gang stopped killing off enemy Stand users and instead beat them so badly that they'd never harass anyone with their Stands again. Hardly anyone dies in One Piece, and that has a list of characters way bigger than Bleach, but Eiichiro Oda doesn't have problems with dropping characters off the story once they're no longer important or bringing them back if he needs them again. Kubo's real flaw in that is that he wants to make them all into main characters. It's as if he doesn't understand the concept of secondary or tertiary characters. There's no way you can write an interesting story with that many main characters, and so Kubo forgets about certain characters and they just quietly disappear from the series.

I wouldn't mind if he made another action shonen series. I personally think he's at his best drawing action poses from dynamic angles and sometimes dynamic perspective. Having something totally different would still be interesting though. The questions would be if Kubo has the personality to illustrate for someone else and if he would be interested in a non-fight series. Personally, what I get sick of are characters explaining how their powers work. He can depict powers functioning and convey what's going on without dialogue. What I'd like to see, if he can collaborate a fight series, is a fight drawn by him that does not have any of this sort of monologuing. It's part of why I like series like Hunter X Hunter so much: In that series, you can be very compromised if your opponents know how your powers work because they can then devise countermeasures, and most of the strongest fighters refuse to even show their powers to their closest friends and co-workers. Whereas in Bleach, they just throw around their powers as the first thing they do. Why not have, say, Hitsugaya fight as a normal swordsman, then when he gets the chance to, use Hyourinmaru's ice powers (without saying anything) to create an environmental advantage? Or how about a Hado specialist like Momo or Rukia creating traps to use in conjunction with their zanpaku-to, striking while their opponents are least able to defend themseves?

Who's this "we"? I subscribe to Viz's Shonen Jump, whose next issue will be made available this coming Monday, August 8th.

But I suppose what you really mean is speed scanlations.

If the anime continuation isn't going to be this 'big announcement', then I don't care about it, because Kubo will probably just announce his new Manga series or something less breath-taking.

Come on now... we all know it's another pachinko game announcement! Laughing

Once Viz has released all the volumes, I'm gonna binge the whole series from the start. Sad for such a giant series from my early fandom years to end but, I will also pray for a streamlined Bleach anime series that wraps up the story. I'll even take those series recap films for the final story arcs.

Not to ruin the mood but an anime is really unlikely now that the manga ending. Not impossible, but the chances are low considering the anime is made to boost the manga sales.

Yeah I cannot see it being an anime continuation at all, no incentive for Shueisha, an anime to finish it off would be a huge investment for very little in return, would be just flogging a dead horse.

A movie on the other hand I could potentially see. Less risk involved and a nice send off to a long running series.

Most likely gonna be a spin-off or semi-sequel in another magazine.
