That's a little mixed up. The pun is on the totally normal word for boy, "otoko no ko" (男の子), literally "male child". Only here, you replace the "ko" (子) that means child with the "ko" (娘) that means girl. So "male girl". That "girl" character (娘) can also mean "daughter", but when it's read as "musume", not "ko", so the "daughter" meaning is irrelevant. |
