I'd be surprised if those horrible imitation figures came from anywhere but China. Laughing

I can't believe what I'm seeing here. Those statues are awful!!!! I can imagine people will either laugh their heads off or recoil in horror at what they're seeing. I'll tell you this. Those statues won't be mistaken for their anime counterparts, that's for sure. What were the sculptors thinking? They're not Michaelangelo, that's for sure. (For those who don't know what I'm talking about,I'm talking about the famous sculptor, not the Ninja Turtle.)

Oh China, you so craaaaaazy! Wink If there's one thing you're good for other than Americanized Chinese food, it's your laughable bootlegs and knock offs.

So...basically all China does for a living is watch cheesy US blockbusters and steal things?

*sees headline, clicks*

Aww, I was hoping it would be an exhibit explicitly for bad statues. Like, "Your product has to be this bad to be entered"

Yes, they are quite horrible. I doubt anyone, Chinese or not, who was a fan of these shows would want their picture taken with them.

That Sasuke sorta reminds me of the famous McDonald's toy Sasuke. Ignoring the backgrounds, these look like close-up pictures of fast food toys. Or worse.

I'd have been very surprised if those turned out to be authorized. From time to time we see news about restaurants or stores in China having unlicensed One Piece or Naruto promotions. Plus, the only way I could see something that looked like this getting the ok is if the license holder actually requested fan art. They tend to be more forgiving on things not looking very good or accurate if its just for fun.

This is not as terrible as the "Naruto" manga ending.

Is anyone who goes to malls in China even interested in Naruto and One Piece? See that Calvin Klein store in the background? Yeah expect to pay at least $200 worth Chinese yuan for a pair of jeans, and then go take your picture in your Calvin Klein jeans with a cheesy knockoff statue of Naruto that the mall didn't even bother getting authorization for Rolling Eyes

This communist country is well-known for bootlegs, so how should this be any different?
