Depending on the reception and all, they can see if there's still a market for Haruhi, I guess.

After endless 8 what person would want more haruhi?

It's a shame that Kyoani destroyed its own creation like that

Me. I enjoyed watching Endless Eight and from talking to others I know that I am not the only one.

I would love to have more of the Haruhi novels animated.

Maybe if the author got off his butt and wrote more books there'd be a reason to make another season. The guy's worse than George R.R. Martin at this point.

Also me. I want to see more of the novels animated, all of them preferably. I think the novel series is complete. Not sure since I read only the first 4, but I have the rest sitting in my to-read pile at home here.

I got chills down my spine for about five seconds, then felt crushing disappointment.

C'mon, man... The franchise has got to redeem itself after that Nagato-chan... thing.

Honestly though the last book pretty much feels like an ending already. I certainly wouldn't mind if we had more material, but I feel like it'd be hard to top this last arc.

but subsequent installments in the franchise have failed to ignite the same excitement and fan interest as the first season did

Big chock, turn out people do not like to rewatch the same episode eight time in a row!

FUNimation offers most of the above content in a deluxe Blu-Ray boxset of its own.

I know that this is nitpicking but the Funimation boxset doesn't have the movie. Although they did include an empty slot for it when it does come out. So everyone there deserves a couple round of high fives.

Good god that price is insane. I paid around $400 USD for the TV series and live events Blu-ray boxset back in, what like 2011 or something?

I just want a new season, not a movie or a spin off or a live action version..
