The forum keeps changing the name of the evil mascot character from Magical Girl Raising Project to the word 'favorite'. Does that mean that the name (F a v) is a banned word or moderated? I see other posters having to jump through hoops to use the name by adding additional characters or characters.

Yeah, for some incredibly stupid reason, that word is filtered. It's a real pain in the ass and worse I can't see any reason for it. Somebody's idea of being cute, I guess.

This was a thing before that show aired. I'm guessing it's for the sake of convenience or something so that you don't have to write the whole word. But why doesn't ad then turn to advertisement or advert?

I had been unaware of this because I had never tried to use those three letters as a word.
I wonder if this is part of an attempt to prevent "text" or "chat speak" in the forums? Now I would really like to see a list of filtered words, but I doubt that I ever will. |
