I guess it's how you define recent. I consider anything from the last 5 years or so recent. If you look at the top 10, that is over half of them. If you look at the full top 300 listed on the site, it is a whole lot. Shows like Love Live and Yuri on Ice also have huge passionate fan bases who actually go vote and get their friends to vote as well. No one is questioning the accomplishment, just saying that these type of polls always skew to the recent and popular.
