Watch the romcom heroine be the strongest Creation because she works on comedy logic where tsunderes casually deck people into the stratosphere.

That would actually be hilarious.

Even if nothing else pans, I have to say I love the 2nd ending. It's now one of my favorites of all time.

Just a wild guess here, but my first thought when seeing the new guy in the new opening was Syo, Yuya's former best friend. He's cradling a dead girl, with another dead person nearby. he also looks tall and lanky, just like Yuya, and wears the same rings

That makes a lot of sense.

Whatever happened to Charon, btw? He wasn't in the OP (unless i missed him), that doesn't seem to bode well for his fate...

Considering the bit is the aftermath of the murder of Syo's sister, I figure, based on Meteora describing Yuya's background in ep 13. There's also the bits from the new EP of a chibi Yuya w/spirit facing off against a chibi of said character w/a spirit as well.

Why am I getting a feeling she'll be the one in counteracting Magane's abilities?

Both of these are interesting thoughts! What better weapon against someone whose powers are built on lies than a person who acts unbound by normal logic?

And yeah, if she is a romcom tsundere then I can definitely see her winding up being surprisingly powerful. The good guys are woefully underpowered compared to their opposition at this point if you factor in that Rui can't join the fights unless there's a lot of open space.

The martial arts guy does seem to be clearly Syo, Yuuya's rival/ex-friend/hero of his franchise. We know that Yuuya killed his sister and other friend as an origin, so it looks pretty clear that he could have beef with Yuuya.

The new girl does seem to be from the romcom genre, supposedly being an "ordinary girl". The fact that she seems to be escorting a crying child and a dog makes me think that they are both lost, and it is her nature that she happened. I am kind of thinking she might passively pull in circumstances like "flags", and perhaps along with the fictional nature she might have something like weaponised clumsiness. I did not think of the tsundere thing mentioned above, but my tsundere detector is not going off yet, but perhaps embarrassing situations like an accidental panty flash could give her a boost of strength or other rules of comedy. Which is now making me think of Mako from Kill la Kill, who could do impossible things as long as it was funny.

And lastly, my current theory is that perhaps Sota is taking part in writing in his own character, as a boy who just so happened to get involved at the centre of the crossover, that he might be able to act as a conduit of giving the different characters some strength.

That would be pretty lame, self-insert wish-fulfillment of the worst literal sort. I'd rather see him write Setsuna to check Altair, but I'd really rather he just shut up and let pros do their job.

I went back to check the Exclusive Underground poster Mirokuji was in, and Sho there has the same outfit as the new guy in the OP.

This was very much a creator focused episode this week. It gave a good outline of what they are planning to do and how they plan to do it. I am curious to find out what the character that Sota is working on will be considering how they reacted to it.

It is possible that they are treating his reveal as a surprise since they didn't show his face.

...the closer takes a more inventive approach, primarily featuring the good guys in chibi form as they examine various stages of the creation process. ... [The new guy's] tragic circumstances in the opener suggest that he's more likely to align with Altair.

Actually all of the Creations are in the ED (which was fantastic!), and his positioning between Blitz and Alicetaria while groping the boobs of a still of Selesia makes his alignment crystal clear. Smile

I very much enjoyed this episode, but it got me thinking. They've talked a bit about whether the characters want to go back to their worlds if they can, and they all seem to, but Magane probably doesn't have a place to go back to, since having killed her creator she likely ended her source material. Unless it's a long-running and beloved series, usually manga end with the lives of their creators. So I wonder what will become of her when this is all resolved?

Meteora is in a somewhat different situation I think, being from a game which is fairly static except for the continued input of players, and if a sequel game is warranted (which it probably is if it's so popular), I think it's not so uncommon to hand that off to whoever is available to write it for the game company, should the original creator be unable to continue. I could be off about that though.

Holy hell! You guys are observant af. I hadn't put those clues together but going back over the original ED where we see a few cosplayers of the characters, Yuya is being aggressive towards a guy dressed like the other newest Creation. With that, I can only conclude that it has to be Exclusive Underground's protagonist, Syo.

I am giddy about the theories going around regarding the new female Creation and what her potential powers/role in the upcoming battle could be.

On the topic of the good guys being underpowered, i've checked the powers that they use.
-Yuya would be extremely useful if his stupidity didn't get Hangaku stolen.
-Rui, i wouldn't be surprised if they make an exosuit for him to compensate for the issue of active combat (the dude spin kicked JDF solders like it was nothing during the home invasion).
-I do wish that Selesia was stronger as i feel that she doesn't have as much chance to shine against Alice or Altair. However, i can rationalize it as the writer wanting her to overcome adversity in the story.
-Meteora, it's a bit of a odd notion that she has no offensive magic. She's supposed to be guarding a massive library, utility and defensive magic is just part of an effective mage's kit. However, given that the second op has her summoning fighter jets, i think she might get a power boost at some point
-as for the two new creations, i would love to see how the rom-com girl is used, maybe they will respect the notion that rom coms operate on different logic than most shows. The other guys, if the theory is true, could serve to counter Yuya but we will see
