Surely "The Queen of Chupakabura" would have been a better name?
I really enjoyed this series. It was so solid, fond, well-executed and funny. Unfortunately while it excelled in those areas, its predecessor Shirobako excelled in all of them more. It had better characters, it was funnier, it was more true to life and more emotional. The series resemble each other so strongly that to compare them was inevitable. But frankly, if more series were as well-engineered as these two were, we'd probably have a lot more good anime to recommend. |

That's part of the big conceit about Sandal, that he is really "Alexandre S.D. Celibidache," the supposed creator of Sakura Quest. His name appears first in the opening credits. They played on this conceit a couple of times in the show, like Sandal's remarkable abilities during the quiz show about Manoyama. He knew what he had written so he didn't have trouble answering the questions! |
