that's what i was thinking, now if the series had failed completely or it hadn't had a release in say 10 years then i could understand a reboot especially with how popular Resi 7 was but yeah this doesn't make any sense to me |

I had been hoping and am very relieved that the next Resident Evil is a reboot--and it's NOT because I dislike the previous film series. The Final Chapter had a very fitting conclusion, and I had hoped it would stay true to its title and not mess with it. Not to mention I paid high money for the complete Japanese-released blu-ray set of the whole series, so now I know my gamble paid off!

Spider-Man came out the same year as the first Resident Evil film and has already been rebooted twice (though for the Marvel Cinematic Universe version, they didn't bother retreading the origin story again). |
