The most upvoted YouTube comment is why the new Berserk can´t be this. What else is there to add and i continue having reasonably high hopes. Let´s see which other Japanese or genre properties can get a proper Netflix deal in the future and i mean from the ground up, as here. You know my vote.

I'm happy it is 2D, you don't see as much as that from America in recent years.

LOL really? They must be pretty stupid. I mean Berserk and Castlevania don't even look remotely similar so Castlevania doesn't have the same issues when to comes to the adaptation.

Glad the characters are 2D, but the backgrounds and certain details look like (awkward) 3D to me. I've been trying to parse what's 2D and what's 3D in the trailer. Those skeletons are CGI, right?

Mostly it looks really exciting (I've never played the games, though).

Well, Trevor Belmont was spoiler[the first man to kill Dracula], I believe.

Trevor Belmont is from Castlevania III (1989) and killed Dracula in 1476.
Sonia Belmont is from Castlevania Legends (1994) and killed Dracula in 1450.

Some people have tried to write Castlevania Legends out of the history, because Sonia spoiler[starts the entire Belmont lineage together with Alucard], but I call bullshit on that. The newer Castlevanias that tried to rewrite that part of history are garbage and don't deserve the Castlevania name, imho.

They look like static images(as in i don't think they move), so they could just be highly detailed paintings. I personally don't think they look 3D, but they could be textured rather than painted on, which could give the illusion of 3D.

Nice touch with the NES. Yes, the NES has Netflix before the Switch. What the hell?

The show has gone full anime. Even more so than Voltron.

The surprising thing is that it's a western studio, Frederator Studios, that's producing it. So it's not anime even through it looks like it. And it's only four half-hour episodes making more like a movie than a series.

It looks quite nice, I'll definitely give this a watch. Hopefully Netflix keeps doing what they're doing.

In the official timeline it goes as such:

-1094: Lament of Innocence where Mathias Cronqvist becomes a vampire to spite God and Leon Belmont starts the clan's mission of hunting the creatures of the night
-1476: Dracula's Curse where Trevor Belmont is the first man to defeat Dracula
-1479: Curse of Darkness when Hector, a former servant of Dracula, hunts down his enemy Isaac who of course resurrects Dracula whom Hector defeats
-1576: The Adventure with Christopher Belmont
-1591: Adventure II
-1691: The first title with Simon Belmont
-1698: Simon's Quest
-1748: Harmony of Dissonance with Juste Belmont
-1792: Rondo of Blood with Richter Belmont
-1797: Symphony of the Night with Alucard
-1800s: Order of Ecclesia with Shanoa
-1917: Bloodlines with John Morris (the son of Quincy Morris from the novel Dracula)
-1944: Portrait of Ruin with Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin
-2035: Aria of Sorrow with Soma Cruz, the reincarnation of Dracula
-2036: Dawn of Sorrow.

Long and complicated history there.

Anyway, actually looks good, really getting the atmosphere of the games right with some good character design. What really gets me is that it's written by the legendary Warren Ellis of all people. Definitely going to check this out when it comes out
