Don't know if I want to read Delicious in Dungeon or not. It sounds more like a cooking show, than a man trying to rescue his sister. Even one of the reviewers remarks that the man wasn't too concerned about his sister.

Laios is a weirdo and not too emotive so he can seem more interested in eating monsters than rescuing his sister but some of this is down to him being an experienced dungeon crawler; he can't do anything until he gets down to where the dragon is, and he needs to eat where he is right now to be able to get there.

There's some short flashbacks in later chapters fleshing out his history with and feelings towards his sister and Marcille also turns out to be personally motivated, something that really doesn't come across in the first chapter.

I don't have any fondness for "food porn" and the faux nitty-gritty of fictional cuisine did wear on me sometimes but it devotes more and more time to characterization and plotting as it goes on.

I'll chip in that I found the reviews really interesting since I expected it to be a slam-dunk hit with them. I won't go so far as to say Rebecca or Nik's observations are wrong, but, they sure surprised me based on my own experience (for what it's worth, it's also a two-time Manga Taisho Award nominee).

So is this the end of the reviews, or are you waiting on Land of Lustress and others?

We're done; guide wrapped up last weekend. We're going to continue to promote the feature throughout the month, though.
