How could "Sakura Quest" not be listed? It incorporates the woes of the workplace in the tourism department.

Both those star high school kids, and I specifically wanted to focus on adults in the workplace. Great series, though!

No, New Game! leads are adults, despite the character designs.

Would Aria count here? It's kind of a job...

Rec is one of my old favorites for adult workplace anime. Also great to see Yugo get a mention; I always felt like that was an underrated series.

I wouldn't think that New Game's character designs would imply the characters are highschool kids. Its not like super cutesy character designs in manga/anime refer exclusively to underage characters.

No but considering the characters in question (Aoba and Nene) look like this:

It is easy to see why one might think they are high schoolers (or younger)

^ They look like they're around 12 years old. No way are they adults or anywhere close to it. If they are, they have some sort of weird condition that has prevented them from developing naturally.

Well, they're only like 18, and if I remember correctly, the pictures do understate their, or at least Aoba's, development a little bit.

I'm surprised that Onizuka didn't get the number 1 spot.

I wouldn't say Bartender is about the woes of the workplace -- more of a "Customer Problem of the Week" series. Ryu has few problems of his own, aside from using his massive knowledge base and divine drink-mixing skills to come up with the perfect cocktail every time.

It's nice to see some love for Yugo the Negotiator. More people need to watch this.
I somewhat agree, although Yugo's main skill seemed to be not negotiation but "withstanding extraordinary rendition." It's like inverse torture porn, where the viewpoint character is the tortured rather than the torturer. Still a good "change of pace" show if you're tired of "I woke up one morning and found myself the only boy at an all-girls magical school in an alternate world" LN commercials.

I get the feeling Lynzee wanted to avoid titles that could be considered "school anime," since those are pretty common. Though perhaps Kodomo no Jikan could also qualify as a "School as Workplace" show...

re: New Game, at LEAST with respect to Aoba (don't know with Nene as I didn't watch far enough) I know that her "appears younger" thing is a point noted in the show. I mean, they were obviously going with "cute" character designs, but at least for that character she's "supposed" to look young for her age.

Regarding other shows, Is "Danki-Gai" any good? I haven't gotten myself to watch it, but I saw things about it when it came out. Also, people I know that are fans of the series say Patlabor is basically a workplace drama that happens to include giant robots.

They're referring to the poll regarding teachers.

I second Hataraki Man and nominate Master Keaton for the List.

Heck yeah! Also, a Yugo the Negotiator/Master Keaton crossover would be, like, one of the most epic of epic combos.

For new shows, now that I know about it, I'm excited for an Irresponsible Captain Tylor sequel, even though I may hate it for being so different than the series I love more than any other.

Bartender is such a great series. Too bad it was never licensed. I only found out about it because I stumbled upon some videos from a sub group, not sure which one.

I had never heard of The Great Passage until now, but reading that description, it sounds like it would be a nightmare to translate.

Yeah, I remember seeing art and screenshots of this show and then reading that they're all adults, getting surprised by that. But I guess they wanted to avoid the whole "precocious teenager gets an adult's job" trope that we see a lot of in anime so we can have a cast full of young people. Then again, they're 18 years old, which is still quite young (just not as young as they look), so maybe it's a pre-emptive way to keep porn of them safe from the law?
