Oh good, the MC has a beard. No gay here folks, move along.
I'll try not to judge until I see the series for myself, but I've really never been a fan of obligatory girlfriend characters. I'm not saying that all the guys have to be single for the sake of fujo-baiting, but pretty much the only times I've seen canon pairings work in sports series is when either a) the female in question is a serious mover and shaker in the plot, or b) the female in question is actually on the team. (So basically just Inazuma Eleven.) |

I thought the same thing when I saw her.  Like, whelp, this is going to be about as successful as Cheer Boys.
