Ah, I knew this was coming someday.
Dengeki is probably going to reveal more announcements later tonight. I'm guessing this might air sometimes in Summer 2018. |

...they're not going to call it Sword Art Online III? Sure, Sword Art Online II covered three story arcs and this one will only cover one, but...really?

What? No mention of the Spin-off anime?
In either case, I'm hyped as fudge! |

But Alicization arc is unusually long for all light novels, period. Even a annual length is a bit of stretch to adapt 10 volumes.
Hopefully they can manage it, and keep up to the production schedule |

Great news, and I am hoping that it will air next year. While I did have some issues with the Fairy Dance arc I have always found SAO to be entertaining.

This'll be Ai Kayano's 3rd female knight role in recent years. Is she getting type cast now?

I am not a fan of this franchise, but congrats to those that wanted to see more. I assume it is airing next year.

Hmmm, I guess they're just going to leave it with a cliffhanger ending? Maybe they'll announce a season 4 shortly after, but going to be annoying if they just wait several years leaving everyone hanging.

I'm really glad about this. While I don't think SAO is perfect, far from it, it always entertains me and provides a pleasant viewing experience - save for Fairy Dance, which I could really do without. I'm very comfortable saying that I'm a fan of the franchise.
So, with that said, I am really excited that we're getting a third season of the main series, as well as a very engaging spin-off being adapted. Next year is going to be great as a fan of the franchise. |

Nah, there are tons of people who hate on SAO just for the sake of it. So they'll gladly take this opportunity to makes sure everyone knows that SAO is trash, the worst thing to happen to anime, and you should feel bad for liking it. |

I find it interesting how many fans of SAO feel the need to apologize for liking it as if it’s one of the worst anime to ever be released. Issues aside, SAO is a pretty decent series that can always bring some modicum of entertainment and high octane action if nothing else. I’ve never seen an anime get such a bad rep solely based off of one bad arc. Mother’s Rosario and Gun Gale redeemed the series in my opinion.
Anyways, can’t wait for this new arc to be animated. I’ve heard wonderful things about it and I may just start on the light novels as I wait. |
