I wouldn't be comfortable giving my personal information to a Chinese company.

This is something I've actually been wondering about: Are there just not that many anime fans who subscribe to Amazon Prime? I use Amazon Prime and have been using it long before Anime Strike as it allows me to circumvent the otherwise prohibitively expensive shipping and handling fees that owuld normally come with me getting things online. (For instance, I bought $10 of gummy bears recently because I love good gummy bears, and checking S&H, it was $8.)

I can only speak for myself, but, yeah, the double paywall is why I hate Anime Strike. I barely order anything from Amazon in a year and have no use for most services provided with Prime. It's not worth it to me. I already subscribe to Crunchyroll and wouldn't mind paying for another service if it's worth it, but I'm not paying for Anime Strike since I'm paying significantly more for a bunch of extra crap that I don't care about

It would do Amazon better to not have the Prime paywall for this service. If Amazon wants to be in the game, I feel services like this shouldn't be behind the paywall.Kind of feels like they are treating those with Prime better than non-users overall in general.

Well yeah, that’s how most companies operate. If you spend money with them, they are going to treat you better than people who don’t. Even in Crunchyroll, you get a commercial free service if you pay. You don’t get that for free.

Companies aren’t going to go the extra mile for customers who don’t use them anyway. Strike was built as a value adding option for existing Prime members, not as a free service for people who don’t use Prime. They are focusing on their most valuable customers, not just anyone that has internet access.

I think it would work out better if it was a separate service customers can pay for. If they had Prime, they can add extras like commercial free, etc. Some fans just don't buy stuff to justify Prime, but if priced right just for Strike, they'll go for it.
