"This premise could have easily fallen apart, but an easy sense of humor alongside strong visual worldbuilding does a lot to establish this as a cohesive world right away. This aspect of the work is impressive, and it also succeeds more than the actual plot, which is bogged down by pacing and exposition issues."

That's exactly what I thought about Attack on Titan! Seemed like every five minutes there was a five minute exposition from somebody about something which always involved a lot of grimacing, screaming, and sweating. I could only ever watch one episode every other day as a result, and never got further than half-way.

I enjoyed watching Dragon Dentist when it aired on NHK World, though more for the animation and less for the story. The overexposition and pacing kind of detracted from my enjoyment in the second half.

I too enjoyed The Dragon Dentest up until the last act which to me had the appearance of the writers running out of ideas and the producer/director running out of money.
