I have two TV's in my house that overscan, and both of them are the ones used most commonly and the only ones used for gaming. One is a giant CRT that we got when flat-screen TV's were just taking off, and they had some tracking issues that we couldn't stand. This one overscans HORRIBLY, so much so that I literally couldn't play Persona 5 on it because it cut off so much of the text. The other one is a proper flatscreen, and while it overscans less (and a consistent amount on all the edges, unlike the CRT), there's no native option to turn it off. Makes anime viewing on them annoying to impossible. I've burned entire weekends trying to undo the overscan on these; I know that it should be possible by going into the scary back-end settings, but all attempts at doing that have ended in failure. I'm about ready to take them to a repair shop... but the thought of lugging a CRT that size up the stairs and into a truck is less than appealing.
