Ah, and I saw it subbed twice first and read the manga before watching the show. Honestly, this was one of the hardest reviews I've ever had to write because there are so many feelings surrounding it, both my own and other people's. It was hard to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. |

I watched the anime a couple of years ago having not read the manga in a good few years, and I think it stands up perfectly well on its own. It still manages to tell a good story given what information was available from the manga, and I genuinely enjoyed watching it and didn't feel it was inferior to the manga version, just different. Obviously if you want to spoiler[meet all the zodiac characters and the thing about Akito being female] then you need the manga, but the anime manages quite well without them.
