Okay, but how does it compare to the anime adaptation?

Given that both manga literally died after the first arc, the anime did better by sheer virtue of continuing. That being said, the first manga had a more accurate representation of King Arthur's Hallmark Magic. Also I recall Takeru looking suitably rough as he was twice the man he used to be.

From the sound of it, they're about equivalent... could be good, but falls well short of the mark.

Sad news... the LN were really good.

I think the LN had a really unusual story structure. It cut off background information suddenly while also introducing several things at once (the new member, the reluctant witch, and the Relic Eater contract), so I can't exactly fault the artist.

Although I personally felt it was enjoyable, I think the anime also had the same problem of withholding things. But since it was longer, at least it's not to the same degree.

Too bad. I was really interested with the manga's artwork.
