I actually like Pokémon Sun & Moon. It takes a different turn, but a lot of fan favorites return, and I think that's a real treat for those who grew up watching the original show.
That being said, when the season does come to an end, I hope S&M ends up being a dream Ash & Pikachu share (the character designs definitely imply that might be the case). Just like the infamous "Dream season" of the soap opera Dallas, when Pam Ewing woke up and found Bobby Ewing in the shower when he was supposed to be dead in season 9 of Dallas after being run over by Katherine.
