IMO, Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg might be a more accurate counterpart to compare Enzo to rather than Bezos.
He even kinda looks like Dorsey with a mullet

Enzo has way too much hair to be Jeff Bezos. Bezos is more of a classic, reclusive billionaire type. He'd be right at home as a Bond villain.
Enzo is more like Elon Musk, but like the version of Musk that was built up in the media when he first got famous, rather than the embarrassing basketcase he turned out to be.
ANYWAY, this is some really sharp commentary on the intrusive nature of social media. A few years ago there was a real life app which allowed you to rate other people like you were doing Yelp reviews of them; there was a huge backlash and it never really went anywhere, but what Enzo does here is basically the same thing. The difference is, he lets an algorithm do all the rating for you, so people don't have to feel guilty about instantly judging someone. Enzo's "let the people decide" dodge exemplifies this. That's what makes him an effective bad guy: in some ways, an amoral villain is scarier than a straight-up evil one, because it feels more real.
So was anyone else surprised by the preview? I thought Goemon's "underling?" line was just a one-off joke, but it seems like it's going to drive his whole motivation in the next episode.

Yes, pleasntly surprised at that given the nature of Goemon as a character. He was not part of the original lupin manga cast and was added only to give the people something of a natural icon that they could relate to since the west already had Lupin.
I hope that part is actually explored and that we get to hear him utter his trademark, "I cut something worthless, again" phrase while meditating with Zantetsuken.

This episode was a great start to the last arc and I hope it can maintain this level of quality. I was also pleasantly surprised that Goemon will get some focus next time. The episode actually had me worried at first that they were going to shelf him for most of the remaining action because the series feels a bit crowded, but I'm glad I was proven wrong.
I just hope that three episodes are enough to deliver all the promise they've put on the table. As much as I want to see something cool done with the Lupin & Goemon dynamic, I feel Fujiko is still the character who most needs some focus, especially in terms of her place within the gang. Ami's crush will no doubt play a role again, and I hope Albert's criminal past will come and bite him in the butt because of PeopleLog.

I agree with the previous posts, this hits so close to home that the sci-fi aspect of some of it doesn't even seem that far-fetched at all. All of it feels literally like just right now, at this very moment.
The only thing I hate more than enablers like this arc's villain is sheeple. Busybodies. They were more than ready to crucify the cafe lady for having any association to Lupin and call it 'justice'. It's an age-old example of not just misguided self-righteousness but good intentions with no thought to consequences.
It also didn't occur to any of them that, yes, you may think you now have the balls to catch a criminal with your mob rule and your new technology, but while Lupin and his gang might be gentlemen thieves, they're cold-hard killers too. You wouldn't stand a chance.
The scariest part about this villain is he didn't really have to change anyone's minds on this new tech. They were more than willing to give up privacy for the complete and total knowledge of everyone else because they think they don't have any skeletons in their closet that will screw them in the future, nor think of the unintended consequences of what such information could do to innocent bystanders caught at the edge of a snapshot. Like the first arc, his enemy is that mob mentality as much as it is the main villain.
Curious to see what Albert's role is in the grand scheme of things.

Episode 22 did a lot of things i enjoyed, namely using the old video footage for the flashbacks. It was nice seeing them use that instead of modernizing those sequences.
Sure they could have looked nicer/less dated and but i think it actually adds more to the feel of the story showcasing these old dogs in the modern age. Even if they're basically 80 years old by story standards now.

The highlight of the episode was definitely Lupin and Jigen trying to explain to Goemon how the ranking system works and the clips on the monitors.
2 issues I had with it though
1. It's kind of a stretch to imply that Enzo was able to mind game Goemon into starting the fight then and there
2. The reveal with Ami was not earned. If there was some build up or they were comparing between the two of them before this point, then perhaps that reveal could have worked, but as it is, it feels like they're just shoehorning this element for the sake of the plot

Ami's earring is the Shake Hands logo, so some connection between the two has seemed likely for a while. They both also have the same striking blue eyes. If anything, I think the episode pushed the connection too much with Ling specifically mentioning child porn as a possible fate for Enzo's missing daughter.

Lord no, he didn't bury her! He interned her.

Actually we learned it right after the OP, when Ami is scrolling through info about him. While that made it obvious she was his daughter, I wasn't sure if she realized it until the last second of the episode. I hadn't noticed that her earring is the logo, so thanks VampireNaomi, for pointing that out. She's obviously known forever.
Extra Goemon-service is always welcome, so this episode was win for me.

I wanted to see Rebecca back, too, but in her own one-off episode, not like this when she will either get a pointless five-second cameo like all the Red Jacket characters, or further distract from the issues that I think are long overdue to get resolved. This series has done an amazing job setting up intriguing plot and character threads, but I have very little hope that it will manage to resolve all of them in just one more episode.

That's my second favorite thing this episode the other being the return of Mercedes SSK.
If at the end of the show there's a chase featuring Lupin and his Fiat it will be even more enjoyable.

I squeed -_- , I JUST rewatched it on Netflix a few weeks ago too.
And I've been waiting for Rebecca to show up all season so she better make an appearance!
