Nope not at all. It's a spinoff not even done by the normal Neptunia developers and will not have anything to do with any other Neptunia except for the characters as far as I know.

OK, that's good to hear. It would have sucked having to go through the lore all over again. Probably won't be picking up this title.

Pretty much. I didn't think it took much understanding of the series' "lore" to jump into these. Everyone is a game console and they do stuff. I jumped into Mk2 on the PS3 without playing anything else Neptunia and acclimated fairly quickly.
Catching up on lore would be like trying to play Trails of Cold Steel 2 without playing the first, which would probably be one of the most inadvisable modern JRPG gaming decisions I can think of.

I guess it just depends on a person's definition of lore. I see the definition as, "a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject." But I guess others see the word 'lore' as a word reserved for something more intricate?
