Thank you for the memories, Ishizuka-san. Rest in Peace. |
Indeed! And with the final 2 chapters of 2202 yet to come, I wonder who can be cast to take over the role of Admiral Hijikata (whom I'm pretty sure will have a significant role in upcoming episodes)?!

It still sounded like him in the trailer for Chapter 6 that dropped last week, but the question is how much of the voice recording for November's release has been done yet, and how long it will be before Hijikata himself perishes.

I only found out today that he voiced Inspector Nakamori for Detective Conan and Magic Kaito... may he rest in peace.

If Unshou Ishizuka's death left this big an impact, imagine what will happen when Norio Wakamoto Inevitably dies....

I think "See you, Space Cowboy" is more than appropriate. :( I am one of the few who prefers Cowboy Bebop (when I wasn't watching episodes on Adult Swim) in Japanese, so obviously I connected with his Jet Black over Beau Billingslea's interpretation.
He was behind many great roles from many great anime. More importantly, this is also going to be the second time in 8 years that Mr. Satan's voice actor will be replaced due to tragic circumstances. (For those who don't know, the original voice actor, Daisuke Gori, committed suicide in 2010.) Sad.
R.I.P. to Ishizuka-sensei.
I also never knew about the Japanese age reckoning system. Apparently it's been out of popular use since 1902 but it is still used in certain situations, like for the elderly, obits, in rural areas, etc.
