On the topic of TMS titles expiring recently, that's five now with KenIchi & Case Closed last Spring and Nozomi's licenses for Rose of Versailles & Cobra in June and August. If this pattern continues, the next likely to go are Cat's Eye and season 1 of Kamisama Kiss (assuming FUNi's license for that is separate from season 2).


I wonder how much of that is TMS and how much of it is the shows being more expensive than they're worth now. Nozomi seems to have no illusions that what they license will be big sellers over the long-term, Kenichi is several years old now, and Funimation stopped doing anything with Case Closed a long time ago.

When it comes to Lupin, it wouldn't surprise me if Discotek was willing to pay more to get it than Funimaiton.
