Madhouse also produced Onepunch man and Death Parade. Madhouse still produces quality animation but the staff is very important.

One Punch Man was sort of a crowd-sourcing deal, where the directors purposely went out of his way to hire the best staff he could find, and Death Parade didn't really need to do a lot of animation heavy-lifting.

A majority of the staff that made Madhouse great left to create Mappa, which is why a lot of their works have been so well done the past few years.

As of now, Madhouse is a shell of its former self, Overlord being the perfect example of that.

I just checked out the first chapter, it is interesting to say the least.

Usually when an Anime is announced right after a manga has ended it would mean a full adaptation (not always but often) actually having a ln or manga anime adaptation first after the source has ended is pretty much rare these days, due to usually being promotional material.

I hope it gets the best treatment and a full adaptation to boot, really interested in the story and i am holding out on reading past ch 1 so i can fully watch it in Anime form.

Oh yeah, I know. Hence why I said the staff is important.

This is the least likely anime announcement of all time. My other recent darlings Vinland Saga and Pluto could have happened but this one... nah. It would be nice to know who is in charge of it BUT it´s nice to know that at least one grim and gritty anime will likely be good after mostly trash for years on end.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time.
All they need to do now is to do the manga justice.
And I'm speaking of the unique style, which is an integral part.
Please don't screw this up...

Drawing and animating Kaiman's face all the time would be incredibly time-consuming, so partial or full cg seems pretty likely.

Shocking!

And it didn't even take President Santorum to get it. I miss him being the worst President that I could imagine.

Chris "Lord Ainz" Guerrero seems to be a fan of this series. I say this because of his

Yeah, I am loving this seinen wave!

I didn't know Hayashida was Nihei's assistant, that makes a lot of sense!

Yeah, it's great!

Me either, don't know this manga, but that makes me even more interested in seeing this when it comes out and the info about it already seemed very interesting.

Hayashida has never been Nihei's assistant, why do people still spread that rumor after all these years?

Dunno, it seems to be rather old "rumour". I've found 10 year old threads mentioning this: http://www.heeen.de/blame/viewtopic.php?t=1136

Probably just because it's rather niche manga and barely was known about Hayashida. It's really hard to disprove something like this (I haven't found anything that would).
