Manga characters that are clearly Black are not that common though we do have occasional character who are the equivalent of that like Killer Bee from "Naruto". However, Inoue-san might be the most notable manga-ka with characters that are Black.

It’s definitely a rarity. I still remember reading Tokyo Tribes back in high school. Tripped me out to see characters in a manga that looked like me!

What an interesting time. Something like HypMic is hitting amazing popularity, and while this isn't so abnormal it's cool to see artwork like this come from Inoue.
