I've seen about half of everything Shinji Aramaki has directed. It capped out at mediocre. I'm curious what Kenji Kamiyama and Shinichiro Watanabe will bring to the table. I've enjoyed Kamiyama on GITS and imo Watanabe has never associated himself with anything less than good.

I'm iffy on it being CG but I'll give it a shot still.

Wait, what happened to their new Ghost in the Shell collaboration? Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki were supposedly working on the next iteration of Ghost in the Shell at Production I.G. last year. That's covered in the article. It's happening before this project and after Ultraman which is premering next year.

Just noticed this article actually didn't cover that ...odd but here's the Cnet article that covers it.

Please please please be the same quality/style as the Blackout short!

The twitter mentioning 2D/3D also said it wouldn't look like Ultraman.

With Watanabe being involved, and Blade Runner being a very revered film amongst Japanese animators and artists, I'm hoping the prestige of the project will result in a top quality look.

Lord knows, they'll never be making another film any time soon if ever... Anime is the next best thing!

Someone should inform Netflix them part of the reason we love anime is that it's still traditionally animated and not CG, or Toonboom. But then again, Netflix's animation output has been pretty terrible.

Netflix has nothing to do with this show.

Well shoot, this is embarrassing. I guess my brain automatically read this as Netflix and Crunchyroll team up, or I was thinking of the Bebop live-action.

Scratch that then.

Make it happen. As a fan of both Blade Runner movies, the shorts, of Cyberpunk Anime, and really, of anime overall, please make it happen.

Yup, can't wait.
