Pop doesn't really fit DBZ, IMO.

Ofc it does NOT! And not to the theme of the movie especially! Thank millenials for that.

The good thing is it's merely Super, so that can work as a relief.

It's DBS, not DBZ.

Each series has its own music. Even though DB and DBZ had the same composer, you can see that every series never had the same singer for the music themes. This is why Kageyama is never heard in DBS or even in DBGT. Because Hiroki Takahashi never did a music theme for anything related to Z. The closest to GT Kageyama did was "The Biggest Fight" for Final Bout, and that was more a hybrid Z/GT game with most characters being from Z.

And if you were just generalizing the franchise, just drop the Z. DBZ had the same source material as the DB anime. And DB came first.

Hmm, I am a bit concerned here. if you take out all the (rather generic looking) CGI effects, what is actually left at all? Those 3D background elements and the cell-shaded Goku and Vegeta at the end look pretty awful too.

Z had original DB's artstyle and animation style which then further evolved. In Super not only do they ignore that, but they even changed SOUND EFFECTS!

That's one thing, another is that Super is a direct continuation of Z that OVIOUSLY wanted to be similar to it as much as possible since it's Z that made the franchise really lively, not original DB. When it comes to the Anime, that is.
