Honestly, in my opinion, if there has to be another Christmas anime film, I'd love to see Studio Ghibli or Studio Ponoc do their own version of the "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" story, I wonder how they'd do something like that...

Another film to consider adding to this list would be the 1997 The Dog of Flanders anime movie. It's a really sad and emotional film and the animation still looks beautiful even so many years later. It's disappointing this movie hasn't been rescued licensed yet after Pioneer went under years ago.

And just bordering slightly on the political, we apparently have a US president who's an Azumanga Daioh fan, as he borrowed Tomo's strategy of discussing Santa with Chiyo-chan:
"Hey, Chiyo, are you one of those kids who still believes in Santa?"
"--You don't ask her like THAT!!"
(I was waiting for a discussion on whether the government pays Santa to deliver presents, never mind his Mach 100 sled or amazing lock-picking skills.)

Thanks for the various suggestions on my previous post-- although obviously, I want nothing to do with Angel Cop or anything anti-Semitic in nature (I would have actually preferred for that to not even have been brought up as a suggestion, if possible). I also don't have a lot of interest in characters who are only subtextually Jewish, or who only show up in one episode. So I'll keep looking. It's nice to know there's a few, though.
