Short, but interesting interview, thank you. I’m sure a new feature film would have made more sense financially, but I’m glad Nishimura chose to make this anthology and give some very talented people the chance to direct instead of just Yonebayashi.

Ponoc is in the lucky position to have inherited a part of the talent and prestige of Studio Ghibli, so I imagine they are able to do things like these more easily. I’m looking forward to more from them! Also, I wonder if one of the other two directors will eventually direct a feature film.

I love that Ponoc was created so soon after Ghibli. It really would have been a shame to see such talent forced to go their separate ways.
