That's a harem trope though.

Not really. There are some LNs like If its for my daughter i will even defeat the demon lord
That use the father figure trope as a central premise but are not harems
A trope can be common in harem's but not actually be a harem trope, for example: multiple love interests or mostly female cast

You ignored everything else I said just to try to point out that?

. . . Yes.

Did I succeed? In pointing out the thing?

Ok back on discussion. I went in blind and watched this most recent episode dubbed. It works well. None of the voices irritate me. Seeing this new character interact with the main lead has calmed my fears that we were vearing into harem territory. Also, thank god now she has some clothes.

I understand even the web novel was very light on romance, but having never read it or the light novel that follows, sometimes it gets worrisome to see what appear to be standard tropes setting themselves up. The slavery aspect is concerning as well, but perhaps not overly so... does anyone complain when a Pokemon Trainer captures a creature, or any of the characters in a SMT game make a pact to control a demon or an angel? As presented though it sure seems like the slave owner (Naofumi) is the only one benefit from having slaves, instead of at this point keeping on companions.
